Our current health system was designed to meet the needs of the twentieth century, when the treatment of disease was our main priority and the sole understanding of what a health system could do. Now, we know better and understand that the goal of a health system should be enhancing health in the broadest possible way—preventing disease, increasing quality of life, and changing our environments so all people can lead healthier lives.

We envision a health system that is efficient, promotes health, prevents disease, and is able to provide universal access for all, a system that is able to track performance and offer a wide-range of services. We can achieve these goals by transforming our current health system and by collaborating with other sectors to ensure comprehensive care at all stages of our lives.

We believe that health reform should be more than just expanding insurance coverage, and improving routine doctor visits.
